Oh, definitely, the "Tardis Ex Machina" will get really old, really fast if they overplay it. I'm itching for tonight and next week, to see how this plays out.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I loved the sounding of the cloister bell in the Tardis indicating doom. I appreciate that the show doesn't forget its history.

Oh, that idea would work! After all, if she was tapped into Time itself, this wouldn't be such a hard thing to pull off, would it? Although it does bring us back around to the minor annoyance I had with the finale for the first season -- that it felt a bit Deus Ex Machina. And this would kind of be that times ten. So if this does end up being the case, then they need to do it in such a way that we're left knowing it can never happen again, right? Because otherwise, you start to lose some dramatic tension, if you suspect that Super Rose can always just come along to save the day in the eleventh hour.

I love what they've been doing (overall) with the Rose appearances. She's been a regular "Where's Waldo?" until she showed up last night. I kind of think that she is Super Rose, to use your euphimism, that somehow Super Rose traveled in time to help the Doctor during Bad Wolf, while simultaneously going through the events in that episode. Meanwhile, plain ol' Rose is still stuck in the alternate universe. But, who knows?

Really curious how they're going to wrap this up. And I've been dodging spoilers for a month on the finale!

I totally didn't remember that line from the Pompeii episode. That's definitely impressive, how far ahead these writers think! All the more reason to go back and watch these from the beginning. I might have to start buying the DVDs to watch during the off seasons.

I loved this ep too, and I went in thinking I would not enjoy a Doctor-light episode. I thought your review captured my feelings about it very well. Generally, this show has been so enjoyable to me this season.

Did you mention that the "you have something on your back" came up in the Pompeii episode - when the psychics were actually psychic for a little while? That impressed me.

As did this (stolen from Wikipedia)

Rose makes a number of brief, non-speaking appearances throughout series four. In "Partners in Crime", the first episode, she silently watches the incident with the Adipose from the street and has a brief encounter with Donna. After Donna departs to meet the Doctor, Rose walks away and fades into thin air. In "The Poison Sky" and "Midnight", as well as in the webcast 'Captain Jack's Monster Files' for the Hath, she appears as a brief muted flicker on various screens, shouting "Doctor!". In "Silence in the Library", a picture of a blonde woman next to a wolf is shown behind Doctor Moon.
