Sarah Connor – Desert Cantos

Too many shows to recap these days (what with having a full-time job and all), so I’m scrapping Sarah Connor Chronicles right now in favor of Dollhouse. But the Greater Czarina has done a bang up recap over on TooMuchFreeTime.net, so go check it out.

Overall, I really enjoyed this episode, especially after the hospital-based soap opera that was last week’s episode.  Plenty of mystery and intrigue this time around, as the crew deals with the aftermath of Weaver’s killing spree at the warehouse.

Buffy Season 8, Issues #21 & 22

“Everybody is curious about us vamps these days. I think I fingered a zeitgeist.” – Harmony, Issue #21

“Let us talk of the Vampyrs.” – Andrew, Issue #21

“My parents bought it for me. Before I destroyed them with my gayness.” – Satsu, Issue #22

“Big buts come with the Slayer territory these days and I probably should have reviewed that sentence before unleashing it on the sensitive womenfolk.” – Xander, Issue #22

Although it may not seem like it, we’re two issues into a five-issue arc right now, called “Predators and Prey”. It’s a looser arc than some of the previous ones, as evidenced by the individual titles. And in the case of these two issues, the focus has been on B-List characters, as a device to make us aware of a growing public awareness of both Vampires and Slayers in the world.

The People vs George Lucas is a documentary slated for 2010 that “delves into the impassioned feelings and opinions expressed by fans and foes of legendary screen icon George Lucas, and the many debates surrounding his legacy.” It looks pretty interesting …

Personally, while I hate Jar Jar Binks, I can’t hate George Lucas. The dude created not only an endless universe of characters and stories that have pervaded movies, TV, books, comic books, video games, and toys, but also a sci-fi lexicon that forever changed the way the world thought about science fiction. The Force is strong with him … even if he doesn’t always tap into it as well as he should.
